Keeping Warwickshire’s veterans safe with the Forcer Protocol

On Tuesday, we formally launched the Forcer Protocol’s integration into Warwickshire Police.

We invited Claire Lilly – former wife of Lance Corporal Alan Forcer, for whom the protocol is named – to visit our Control Room, where she was able to share her story with our officers, staff, and local businesses who were in attendance as part of the Armed Forces Covenant.

The Forcer Protocol changes our control room processes for call handlers, adding new lines of questions and triggers for current and ex-serving military personnel who are at risk or go missing.

Using the Safe and Found Online platform, it also joins the gaps between different public and emergency services to ensure we can provide the right service and assistance in good time.

If you have family or friends who have previously or are currently serving in the armed forces (or if you have served or are serving yourself), with consent you can add your information to Safe and Found Online, ensuring it’s available to emergency services if it should ever be needed.

A huge thank you to Claire Lilly for taking the time to talk to visit and talk to us, and for all the work she has done on the Forcer Protocol, helping to keep ex- and current armed forces personnel safe.
