Applications to attend pre-selection training for the 2023 Invictus Games can now be made.

To be considered for selection for Team UK at the Invictus Games Düsseldorf 2023, you must first attend 2 pre-selection training camps. This provides a great opportunity for potential participants to explore the sports on offer before making the decision to apply to join Team UK at the Invictus Games. A total of 9 camps will be held at locations around the UK between September and December 2022.

How the training camps work

Every applicant must attend 2 pre-selection sports training camps for each of their chosen sports in order to be considered for a place at the Invictus Games. This is to ensure that the team have met you and are able to best support you so you can decide if you would like to continue with your Team UK application.

You are able to apply and participate in up to 4 sports at the Invictus Games.

Available sports are:

  • Athletics (Track & Field)
  • Archery
  • Cycling
  • Indoor Rowing
  • Powerlifting
  • Sitting Volleyball
  • Swimming
  • Table Tennis
  • Wheelchair Basketball
  • Wheelchair Rugby

When and where are the Training Camps?

The pre-selection sports training camps will take place across 8 locations on various dates between September and December 2022.

English Institute of Sport, Sheffield (October)

Brunel University, Uxbridge (October)

Colchester Sports Park, Colchester (November)

Battle Back Centre, Lilleshall (November)

York Sport Village (December)

Medway Park, Gillingham (December)

Loughborough University (December)

 

How to apply for the pre-selection sports training camps?

To apply for a training camp you will need to provide details of your service history along with evidence of this which could include:

  • Medical Discharge Letter 
  • War pensions or disability pensions confirmation (AFCS or Veterans UK letter) 
  • Confirmation of diagnosis from a medical Professional 
  • Serving Only – Chain of Command Form 
  • Accessibility Requirements
